[at-l] A "hot" place not too far?
Hello!
I need the help of my fellow hikers down south...
I really like snow, ski, -30 sleeping bags, down-filled jackets and other
winter-related stuff but... I want to leave my dear Quebec city in january
and head for warmer places in the south of the states...
I have two questions for you....
#1) As I don't want to spend too much on gas and don't have three weeks to
travel, I'd like to stay the nearer possible to my place... but still
enjoy warm weather. Of course, I,d be really cool to go to Texas,
California and New Mexico, but it's not possible. So... if I want normal
temps around 45-55 in the day and 30 in the night, is Florida my only hope?
#2) Do you know interesting places were I could go? I really like
mountains, but if there's no around, I don't care as long as I have
interesting views and beautiful landscapes. Any suggestion accepted!
Any help would be very appreciated....
By the way, I wanted to go to Georgia and start the other end of the AT...
but I have the feeling it'll be pretty cold. If somebody from the area
could tell me if I'm right or wrong...
Many many thanks!
BYE!
