What she thinks has little relevance and you have no hope of changing.
Here's my suggestion for what to say:
"Honey, I'm going hiking for 6+ months. If when I'm done, I come
back and you're still here, we will both know that we both want this
relationship to continue. If one of us doesn't return to the relationship
after a 6-month absence, then it was already over before I went hiking."
