[at-l] in-step crampons source?

As Yankee Highlander (`96) can attest, often I charge forward, then
negotiate. He's got pictures to prove it too.

Anyway, not 15 min. after meeting a southbounder in the Whites (I
don't recall the exact location or his trailname), I almost broke my neck
on a (Highlander says) spectacular fall that most likely would not have
happened had I had what the southbounder had just shown us: in-step
crampons.

They were exactly what I needed and still do. Just like full
crampons, except only 4 teeth (2x2) right in the in-step. Light, less
expensive, compact, good for that occassional ice-slide; just what I need.
After surviving that fall (which the southbounder _specifically_ warned us
of...), I was sold.

The kicker: been off-Trail for 12 months and have yet to locate a
pair. Sure, all you NH-ites can probably walk into any outfitter and find
a pair. Here in FL, I can count the number of outfitters in the entire
state on one hand, literally. And those have little/no mountaineering gear
(ice axes, crampons, etc.)

So, if anyone knows of a mail-order or web page source for such,
please forward the ph#/URL. My neck will appreciate it.
