Many of my co-workers confront me regularly wanting to know
"when's the last time you went hiking? or when are you going again?"
Most of the blacks (here they prefer being referred to as Black rather
than Afro-American), are simply afraid of the woods.
The biggist question is "What do you do about snakes?" Of course their
are exceptions, you can't lump everyone into a group because of their
color, I mean their is an old black gentleman that has 5 foster kids and
they live on a large farm and really enjoy camping out. Most of the
white folks simply cover the camping hiking situation with, "No I had
enough of that while in the Army." I have very rarely heard anyone say
they do not like the woods because they used to be poor.
