I only ran into two thru-hikers on the trail this summer who used the Zzip.
One of them, Whistler, got rid of his at Damascus--he'd had too much
trouble with it  during extended rainy periods. Another, Mike Without
Laura, used his the whole way, and said it only failed him at one very wet
campsite, where no dry tinder at all could be found. But he started his
thruhike in late May, so didn't encounter spring rains in the South.
