[at-l] gathering

Had a great time at my first gathering. Saw many hikers I met years ago on
the Trail as well as several list members. So many great slide shows. So
many great people. Can't say enough about Walking Jim. I saw him at the ATC
conf. meeting in 89. Ed Garvey - Cindy and Todd - Warren
These people are living legends to me. 

Sitting there, I couldn't help think about some of the petty issues we get
caught up in on the lists. They seem especially stupid when you see all
these hikers that truely love hiking and the Trail. Speed? gear? style? I
liked Cindy Ross's comment that we were "a tribe".
 

 I felt awful guilty walking passed the many cars parked around campus from
far away places. I live 4 miles from the meeting. I think they should have
a dunking booth for the person that travels the least to the gathering -
don't you?
