Hi Mona,

You came to the right place for AT info.  Heading northbound you'll have no
problems as there are many hikers you'll soon consider family and watch out
for each other.  Except for one or two incidents I believe the AT to be one
of the safest places on earth.  Also try Appalachian Trailplace at
 www.trailplace.com   it has a wealth of thru-hiker information  with three
seperate mailing list.
