[at-l] Lyme disease vaccine

Hi Walt,
The article I read was on the Pasteur Merieux Connaught vaccine. The
results I posted were the results after males and females had taken 3 doses
of the vaccine. The first was in the spring of 1994, second one month
later and the third dose one year later.
After two doses of vaccine the results were:
89% males under 60 years of age didn't get lymes
It was not effective on males over 60 years of age
67% females under 60 years of age didn't get lymes
47% females over 60 years of age didn't get lymes
The article further stated that SmithKline Beecham Biologials are also
developing a lyme vaccine.
Sorry to hear your wife contracted lymes while taking the vaccine.
Take care,
John O

100% effective in females of all ages.
There are at least two different companies doing vacine trials.
Which one are you reporting?
The Conaught vacine failed for my wife - she got the vacine, I got the
placebo. She got Lyme, I didn't (although both of us pulled off embedded
ticks at least several times.)
