Let's see ... the earth's diameter is about 8000 miles so a 5000 foot
mountain represents about a 0.01195 per-cent disturbance. On an 8.6 inch
bowling ball this would represent about a one one-thousandth of an inch
aberration. Quite flat indeed. What is all the hubbub about? :)
