i agree.

i did the amicalola trail in 92, and loved it.  you've got eight miles to
think about the journey ahead, and the anticipation as you climb to the
summit is a great feeling.  it is quite different to the anticipation you
feel as you prepare mail drops and travel to georgia, still immersed in
surroundings that are quite familiar.  STARTING the hike was one of my more
memorable moments, probably because of that warm-up hike.
