[at-l] Solo Hiking

I plan on doing a 3-day hike beginning on the 3rd friday in august.  I
would just like to ask the group as to how they feel concerning
solo-hiking.  I have been involved with both scouting and exploring for a
majority of my life and feel that I have the ability to complete this hike
with little or no problems.  Also, what are the odds of running into
someone who is a threat to safety.. ie, convicts, etc...  I ask this
because a few years back (so I've heard), there was a couple found murdered.
