Re: [at-l] Grayson Highlands/ Mt. Rodgers Camping

Hey there.

Thanks for the info. I didnt get a chance to read it before we left BUT we
did just that! Got the Mt. Rogers map and hiked Massie Gap (love those
little ponies!) Wilburn Ridge one way and the AT coming back, Rhododendron
Gap (lots of flies and bees) a little of Pine Mountain. Lunched at Thomas
Knob Shelter and read the register, refilled water bottles..etc. Then hiked
up to the top of Mt. Rogers just to be able to say I did, no view but
aromatic. Slept at Grayson Highlands both nights the first night because we
just got there, the second because there was a storm brewing and it didnt
seem like the place to be on the bald and all. And it did rain on the 4th
so I was happy to be at the park.
We even went to Whitetop Mt. to the fire station hall to watch the
fireworks with the locals in the rain. Great time was had.

P.S. We checked out Grindstone and Hurricane Parks will plan one of those
next.
