Brown Fork Gap Shelter was under construction in '94 when I stopped by
and made a meal in the afternoon. It's construction style is modeled
somewhat after the shelters found in New England with a "bench" in
front, with some "southern" style shelter architecture mixed in. It's
located 2.4 miles north of Stecoah Gap (NC Road 143), just before the
climb down into Brown Fork Gap itself. =20
