[at-l] Deadheads

ACTUALLY, the term 'Deadhead' sorta defies description. At its
simplest, it is a fan of the Grateful Dead. This definition is the most
commonly accepted, although Felix's first description can also apply.
(although 'mediocre' is not exactly the term I would use!) Despite
public opinion, being a Deadhead does not necessarily entail massive
pharmaceutical intake. I personally do not partake, although far be it
for me to judge someone else. I would definitely say it's much like the
trail community:be good to each other, respect our Mother Earth, and
don't judge others. The media likes to pick on the common view. The
riots, the people storming venues, the negativity that was spotlighted
was not Deadheads, they were wannabes.

I would urge anyone who has not listened to the Dead because of
preconceived notions to at least try. For all their faults, they were
certainly willing to tackle any form of music. From the psychedelic sound
of the '60s, to bluegrass, to Appalachian folk music, to down & dirty
blues, they played it all.
