Just a few responses on:
UNDERWEAR:
I've tried the swimsuit idea, but it tends to create chafing problems for
me, which could be related to the fact that I'm a
rather.......umm...hmm......large hiker. Normally I just cut the liners
out after the first day. I recently found a pair of reversible shorts,
with one side being nylon and the other a poly/rayon woven blend. I'm
hoping to try them out for a couple days, but work is keeping me indoors
on the weekends. :(
WATER FILTERS:
Anybody using the MSR Miniworks? Any comments?
COMMERCIALS:
Anybody heard the Deer Park Water ad on the radio, where the guy is
talking about the AT & trail magic? Cheesy.
It's being played often on 98 Rock out of Baltimore.
BIG BLUE/OTHER TRAILS:
Anybody have any good recommendations for trails within an hour or two of
Frederick, MD? Preferably low usage trails. I like the AT, but don't
want that many people right now. Also, the Big Blue. Has anybody spent
any time on it lately? What are the conditions?
ORIGINAL AT:
Does anybody know how much is left of the original AT that Benton MacKaye
laid out? I know that it has been through many alterations, but how much
do we cover that was there from the beginning?
B/P'ing WITH KIDS:
Jim, this was SO cool. My wife & I are expecting our first, and I'm
already planning! (My wife thinks I'm kidding when I say I'm going to
show up at the hospital with little pairs of ski boots & hiking
boots!!!!!!!!!! ;) )
