TOP 10 REASONS WHY HIKING THE A.T. IS BETTER THAN BEING IN WORLD WAR I

10.  Fewer people shoot at you.
 9.  They didn't have Goretex back then.
 8.  Most of the mud is less than waist-deep.
 7.  The vermin are cuter.
 6.  Your sheltermates probably don't have tuberculosis.
 5.  Most of the townspeople speak English.
 4.  Not many officers; fewer demerits for failing gear-inspection.
 3.  Being out of uniform is allowed on June 21.
 2.  You are having fun.
