[at-l] basically just a test

I am completely new at this, so I'm not even sure how to go about
posting a message...giving it a try and hoping for the best.'

I've been reading the digest for several weeks now owing to an obsession
with the AT brought about by my son's current thru-hike adventure.  His
name is Alec (no trail name) and he is currently passing thru PA with
the earlier of the thru hikers (he left Springer on 3/15).  Actually he
reports that at the moment he is pretty much alone, seems to be two days
behind "Lorax".  I am beginning to wonder if the Spring will get to New
England before he does!  I have been sending him bits of the messages on
the digest (I send him a running letter in the mail drops), which he
says he really enjoys.  So I must thank you all for spicing up my mail
to him!
