I've had some experience with this radio (purchased thru an oil co. promo).=
  It is as Charles describes. But, it operates (this one did) on one of tho=
se small calculator/watch type batteries and I got 1-2 hrs. listening time =
only.  Battery was expensive.  Cool sound for such a little thing, though.
