Ah, yes... the Revolution that advanced the development of plastics,
synthetics, and mass production -- that ended up giving us Gortex,
everything-made-of-nylon, super-lightweight products and email. Like
a lot of revolutions, one has to ponder the benefits as well as the
cost..

I bet Robin Hood would've made a great thru-hiker.  Lightweight too
-- didn't carry a stove.  :-)
