I keep mine on the outside because it is cheaper to replace a punctured 
ground cloth than a gortex tent bottom.  Also the 3.99 ground cloth is 
cheap enough to be cut to the exact size of my tent bottom with an exacto 
in a couple of minutes.  Finally, I like to fold my tent into the ground 
cloth so that it acts a another layer of protection against the rain or 
an accidental dunk in the river.
