John; I have just stared taking my dog, Della, on longer trips. We stayed in our first AT shelter last weekend, and I made it a point to ask the four others that were there if they were at the least uncomfortable with Della's presence, that I would be happy to pitch a tent if they were. If it were really wet out, muddy, that I probably would have just pitched the tent without asking. As you can see, I realize that Dogs aren't mans best friend to everyone, and my policy is a good starting point for Dog-trail etiquette. Anyone else have ideas on this?
