I would think giardia could exist outside of their water world for some time.
They seem to do quite well in the human intestinal tract, reproducing by the
millions and such in a fairly formidable environment of acids, toxic solids,
and such.  Surely the evaporated contents of a water bottle would be child's
play in comparison(?)
