It seems to me that the folks I've known who have gone end to end,
whether in a single season or over a number of years, have been very
goal oriented. I don't think this means, however, that those who stop
their hike short of Ktaadn (or Springer, for the
directionally-independent) have not reached their goal. Sometimes you
just get there quicker than you expected. My thoughts.
