Re appropriate trail names.

There are no "appropriate trail names."

The tradition on the AT is that other thru-hikers will give you a trail name
based on your personality, abilities, or some event or experience that occurs
during your through hike.

There is nothing wrong with assigning yourself a trail name, but be prepared
to explain its origin, and be prepared to have it changed by your fellow
hikers.
