[at-l] Star Gazing

This question is not exactly AT -related, but is sort of.  (pretty weasly, huh?)

Does anyone out there have a definitive opinion about where the best places
are in western NC for stargazing?  I figure GSMNP is out because of the
Gatlinburg/Cherokee lights.  

If you have an opinion, let me know please.
