Robert,

   In addtion to the advice I seen so far, My 2 cents.  If your rain parka
covers your butt, I suggest you swap the rain pants for rain chaps or, if
you have access to a sewing machine, save money by converting them to chaps.

Chaps are lighter, compress smaller, breath better, and don't bind.
