[at-l] Boot Care and Question
Hi, everyone! I'll bet this issue has been breached recently (I've not had the
time to keep up with all the postings lately, though!), but what is the best
way to take care of all-leather boots? I've got a pair of Raichle Spirits that
I've water-proofed with Sno-Seal. (Of course after I waterproofed them with
Sno-Seal, I read that you shouldn't waterproof with beeswax because the heat
used can weaken the sole, but that's beside the point....) Anyhow, I got to do
some weekend hiking over the past two weeks in California while out on business
(Point Lobos and Muir Woods, both absolutely beautiful), and am curious now how
I need to clean and take care of them. I've never had a pair of all-leather
boots, so I'm not sure what to do.
Also, while talking about boots, I've got a small problem and am wondering if
anyone can recommend a solution. The boots fit pretty well, but I have a
problem with one foot being bigger than the other. The left boot always feels
great, but I always have a hard time getting the right boot laced up right.
Either the foot or the ankle end up being laced too tight, and no matter what,
my heel tends to slip a little bit. I've never once gotten a blister, but I
don't want to chance it. Are their insoles or something I can add that would
take up some room in my right boot?! Or does anyone know of some way just to
keep my heel from slipping?
Thanks, everyone!
