[at-l] Fox Hill Inn

re: Fox Hill Inn

A truly wonderful inn for a respite after the rigors of the trail. Mark
and Janet are very warm and gracious hosts. I spent the better part of a
warm sunny afternoon relaxing on the porch watching the hummingbirds get
their fill of nectar from the spring blossoms, gazing at the cows
grazing, and doing some occasional reading. (By the way, this was the
first location along the trail that I found any worthwhile reading
material. The first thing I grabbed was the latest edition of Time
Magazine.) The inn is a bit isolated situated on top of a hill, offering
a peacefulness that hikers are used to but with all the comforts and
feel of home. The beds are most definitely luscious! Breakfast was one
of the best on the trail----you can order anything and everything and as
much as you want-----yummie! The accommodations offered by the Fox Hill
Inn are most definitely not the type hikers are used to while in a town.
If Troutdale is one of your stops (even if it isn't) I'd highly
recommend the inn. It's worth every penny----a definite value for
thruhikers. If you do stop I'd strongly suggest calling for a ride from
the store. The inn's driveway is super long and uphill.
