Re: [at-l] Grist for the hiking mill.
Your most recent philosophical comments were really appreicated as so
much of list contents are question /answer comments which I enjoy, of
course but look forward to comments such as yours and Felix. You put
life on the trail in its most simple terms: enjoy life and don't be
burdened with such mundane matters as esthetics, gear, food and dressing
correctly. This is not to say one should ignore such matters. Rather,
one should put them in their proper place. and then get on with the
hike.
My thoughts on food, for example, is to consider it a source of energy,
and to push all other thoughts out of my mind. I find I can use the
mental energy thinking of food for comtemplation of God and my place in
life. I try not to be obsessed by any one thing.
