Three cheers for creativity and open-mindedness!!
I have never carried an umbrella, but it is tempting to try because of
wearing glasses.  I now use a nylon baseball cap under my rain parka which
works pretty good and is lighter weight than an umbrella, but it would all be
heavier if I included the rain gear weight as well. Rain on my glasses has
GOT to be more of a visual handicap than the umbrella would be.

Now to the question.....which umbrella is the lightest weight?    I think
they ought to  make Leki poles that make into an umbrella!!
