David,you are on to something! Overeat and store fat on your body-not in
your pack.The fat will be distributed all over so it will "carry
well"Also,think of the fuel you save,time spent cooking,and the
packaging you won't have to carry out.Really it is wise to start out a
thu-hike a bit over weight but,take it easy the lbs.will melt off and by
that time you will know what is the best foods to take on a long
hike.your taste for food will change several times before you get to Me.
