Wingfoot is right! Are we getting selfish and not thinking of others?
You must give back to the trail MORE than you receive! Many hikers make
it to Rustys then "flop" for weeks then give up the hike.Several owners
of hostels complain about the demands put upon them by "thru-hikers" and
are thinking of ending their services[ is Rusty ?] Most owners are
former thru-hikers that "are giving back"--this is a labor of love---no
profit motive here! How many hikers cut grass,clean up bathrooms,sweep
floors ? How do you think the place will stay clean?
Again the question will come up===will sucess spoil the AT ? MY
thoughts as an "observer"
