[at-l] packweight



Jim I too have been working toward the 40 lb or less packweight. I agree
with you and Felix that the trailhead weight is it. I weigh the pack as I
walk out the door to get into the car - I don't have a truck. This to me
would be the only true packweight. I also do not weigh the basic clothes I
wear. I have never been able to determine a true base weight. It is never
the same and always comes out too heavy no matter what. Maybe a good term
would be Trailhead weight. That is where you either got to carry it or throw
it out.
