If you are working from a shell account, you can use tin, trn or rn to
read newsgroups. From Netscape, go to "Netscape News" under "window" in
the menu bar.

From there in a shell account, you will probably need to delete all the
newsgroups (just hit N), then type g rec.backcountry. In Netscape, go
under "file" to "add newsgroup" and type in rec.backcountry.

Try not to get sucked into some of the flame wars going on. I think
there's a huge one right now on what wind chill factor is. :P
