I have only tasted Powerbars once and didn't like them - too much
like a good chaw on cardboard.
However we carry a No Cook Peanut Butter Cookie that is loaded with
calories for those times when you need a munchy to keep going, like
when it is poaring rain at lunch time and a shelter is nowhere in sight.
1/3 C Honey
1/3 C Peanut Butter
1 C dry milk powder (or enough to make a good stiff mixture)
For variety use molasass instead of honey.
Extra benefit - really cheap, ingredients available almost anywhere.
Haven't tried it, but I bet you can throw in some chocolate chips or
raisins.
