Hey Y'all, My name is althea and I just got on this list a while ago. A 
friend and I are planning to thru hike starting in summer 97 (after I 
graduate from UT Austin. YAY.) I like the patches idea but please clarify,

1)would it be for list readers? would you still mark the year of a thru 
hike? identify all those newbie hikers? At any rate, count me in if it 
happens. 

2)what's "the gathering" ?
