This is a common problem for rowers who grip the oars to tightly,
especially during close races. (Personal experience speaking!) It's
similar to grinding your teeth under stress or forgetting to breathe when
you are lifting weights. The problem can be blood circulation, muscle
strain, or something more serious such as carpel tunnel. The solution is
simple: RELAX. Don't forget to breathe deeply, and wiggle your fingers
and toes. :)
