My PUR hiker says to replace the filter after 200 gallons.  This
is my second year with it, and I'll replace the filter next season.
The Hiker doesn't have the viral guard, and my understanding is that
the guard isn't really needed unless you're planning on hiking out-
side of the U.S.  One of the other models you mention does have the
viral guard, but I'm not sure of the other differences.
