I think you will find that the SD Meteor light is a great tent (I have 
one) but a little on the heavy side for thru-hikers.  Think about the 
possibility of one of you leaving the trail and the other being stuck 
with the whole thing.  You might think about sqeezing into something a 
little smaller (the SD clip fladshlight seems to be one of the popular 
ones).
