Re: Sierra zip stove

Several of the people I hiked with had mixed views on the Zip stove.  The
big problem was  the length of time it took to get the stove going, particularly
if the weather was wet or snowy.  Also, finding fuel, either
dry or in general, was sometimes a problem.  Several people who started with
the Zip stoves eventually went to a fuel type of stove, particularly after
seeing a fellow hiker eating from their pot while they were still trying to
get a fire going in their Zip stove.  They can also be smokey as well, which
can be a problem in a crowded shelter when its raining.
