   Well Dave, if you have a pack you're happy with and you think 
it'll hold up on the trail, why spend the money on a new one? It 
seems from your post that your Kelty has held up well -- "many multi-
day hikes" -- and you seem pleased with its performance. My advice 
would be spend the money on other needed gear, or else, save it for 
the trip!
