Sec 12 is one of the prettiest sections in NY.  It is not as heavily
used as many other NY sections.  The shelter is only a few years old
and has a water pump that has reliable water.  Fortunately safety has
not been a problem in any of the NY sections, but normal precautions
still apply.  It is easier northbound from 17A to 17, primarily
because of the Agony Grind just west of NY 17.
