Howdy folks,

  Saw the 1994 Thru-Hikers guide over the weekend, as well as the Data Book
at a local camping store.  Looking through both, I was somewhat surprised
not to see the Data Book stuff included in the Guide.  Is there a specific
reason why the two are published seperately, other than it facilitates
hikers only taking the data book on the trail with them?  On that subject,
_do_ hikers take Guide with them?
