Thought I'd pass along a story from this a.m.'s
(June 23) Hagerstown paper.
A couple in their early 20's who abandoned their 3 year old boy at a mall
in California are thought to be hiking north on the AT. They are
reported to have hitchhiked from CA to Washington Co., Maryland where they
have family. They are suspected of having stolen camping equipment from
the husband's father's home in Smithsburg on Monday. Police reported having
received a tip that they were planning to hike along the A.T. to Maine.
