Bob Peoples swears there are emus loose in that VERY area, and that he's seen the pictures that prove it.
Seems a local emu farmer got a little lax about the fences, and away they went.
They have thrived - who knows about reporducing.
Emus were a thing a decade back or so.

I don't know what emus sound like though.
