If you want to see a more realistic view of a horizon covered in
windmills look at the New York Times article in today's paper on Adirondack
windmills. The article details all the economic facts and the $5-10,000 per
windmill the landowner receives. The paper shows two broadly smiling farm owners in
Lowville, NY who now have their retirement covered. It also shows the view
from their property covered in horizon to horizon 320 foot windmills. The reason
this one is worth checking out is because it shows a real photo of windmills
similar to those proposed for the AT in Maine. The images are strikingly
different with the New York ones being hugely noticeable at the same distance and
height. The windmills are predominating and the landscape scene of rolling
wooded hills is like an industrial project. Get a good look at these.
The article said a small minority of locals who don't own
property upon which the windmills were placed don't like them because of what they do
to the view.
NY Times is pro-windmill.
The article also quotes "environmentalists" who laud the project.
