[at-l] Temperature range mid-April thru May

If all goes as planned, I should be on my first section hike on the AT from mid-April through the end of May.  I will be heading north from Springer Mountain, hoping to get to Damascus, VA.  I plan to use a Hennessy ULTRALITE BACKPACKER A-SYM Hammock and a 20-degree down bag.  Still need to experiment with a pad suitable for inside the hammock.

Would any veteran AT hikers be willing to give comments/advice on my choice of sleeping system for that time of year?  What would be the normal temperature range during that time?
