You skeptic, you.

"A key factor in the Grafton Notch project is maintaining the ability for
commercial wood cutting to support the region's forest products jobs,"

Increased frantic logging activity on the North side of the AT thru the
Mahoosucs last summer obscured popular trailheads on the Success Pond road. The
usual M.O. in Maine has liquidation logging closely followed by so-called
"conservation" of the land. Is clearcutting/deforestation** really better than
condos? I'm not so sure anymore.

**this is called "sustainable forestry" in Maine. The lumber barons changed
the legalese so now any liquidation harvesting that leaves a little soil
behind is "Certified Green."
