[at-l] intros

Name: Coosa Carol Donaldson (my parents call me Coosa)

Trail Name: Coosa, however I won't be Thru Hiking using that name until 2009 when I turn 65 on Katahdin, God willing and the creek don't rise. (And I'm not giving hints so you might not know until you see my name in the ATC magazine.)

Where you live (where ever you get your mail): Blairsville, GA until 9/30/06 when it will be Baldwin County, Alabama (somewhere, maybe Robertsdale, Fairhope, Foley, ??)

Occupation: Medicaid Eligibility Specialist until 9/30/06 and then RETIRED.

Marital Status: single via divorce (not by choice, but by necessity)

Family: 2 children, 38 and 37, 6 grandchildren (19 to 6); one dog, Casey, a BlueHeelerXCockerSpaniel age 5.5 (Recently lost a found-dog-CockerSpaniel I named Crockett)

Age: 61.5

Favorite Trail: Coosa BackCountry Trail (Vogel State Park, Blairsville, GA) where I got my Trail Name.

Favorite AT section: Thru Hiking in 2007 but I love the top of Tray Mountain since I saw a Canada Warbler there a few years ago (it's the Southern Terminus of the species).

Other than the AT, the trail you most want to hike: El Camino de Santiago

Trails completely hiked: Coosa BackCountry (12.9 miles); Georgia section of AT.

Trails you want to complete: AT, Pinhoti, Mountain to Sea, Benton MacKaye (probably in that order)

Hiking topic(s) you know a bit about: where to find good internet bargains on quality gear; promotion of cottage industries related to backpacking; "froogling for gear;" Safety (for women) on the Trail.

Other hobbies, interests: Kayaking, Genealogy (Daniel Boone connection & Pocahontas connection), Grandkids, my Dog, Photography, Web Blogs (2); Catholic Church; Volunteering; Martial Arts; Guns/Rifles; Keeping my 1995 Ford Escort running for a million miles (I'm at a quarter of that right now); Hiking Nutritian (new interest); Collecting baseball-style caps; music (harmonica, bagpipe chanter; recorder-flute, baritone ukelele); staying informed on issues of interest; writing my Congresspeople and Governor; Italian language (and Castillian Spanish).

Anything else you want the list to know: Started backpacking at age 28; Have degree in Elementary Education; Highly opinionated independent forward-looking Conservative/Republican (as if you didn't know); Creatively eclectic sense of humor; Occasionally post 'tongue in cheek' (:^P) which is hard for some readers-of-post to pick up.
