Chocolate Chip:

    Under normal circumstances, I'll bet that section of the trail really is nice.  I hiked it this past October, however, finishing up my through-hike.  Due to the more than 17 inches of rain that month, the river was 2-4 feet above flood stage (to which I can attest, based on the water line on my hikin' britches).  What was supposed to be an easy, almost idylic, 5 mile "river walk" was mostly a wade and slog experience that was not, shall we say, one of MY personal favorite sections of the trail!  The water, however, especially flowing over the hydro-power dam, was just awesome!
